How to Find Us
The A30 and A356 (from the A303) both enter Market Square where The George is clearly situated opposite the Town Hall.
Although we do not have our own car park there is public parking available in Market Square.
Attractions in the surrounding area
The George Inn makes an ideal base for touring Somerset, Dorset and Devon.
Within a short drive there are gardens, historic buildings and a range of excellent golf courses.
Local attractions include:
- Cricket St Thomas Wildlife Park;
- Ford abbey;
- Haynes Motor Museum;
- Fleet Air Arm Museum;
- Montacute House;
- Muchelney Pottery and Abbey;
- Perry's Cider House;
- Hambridge Smokery; and
- Sherbourne Castle.
Golf courses include:
- Cheddington Court;
- Long Sutton;
- Cricket St Thomas; and
- West Bay.
Lyme Bay and West Bay with their Jurassic Coastlines are to the South approximately 20-30 minutes drive.
Bristol and the North Somerset coast are slightly over 1 hour away.
Either Exeter to the West or Bournemouth to the South East can be reached in about an hour.
